The Commercial Registration issued by MOCI is the legal identity of your company. Banks, ministries, landlords, insurers, tender committees and clients all validate you against it. A poorly-scoped activity list, an unreconciled address or a lapsed renewal can cascade into weeks of downtime. Jusoor handles CR issuance, renewal, amendment and reactivation with the same senior advisor throughout.

The Commercial Registration is the primary legal identifier of every commercial entity in Qatar, issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI). Every invoice, bank account, tender, employment contract and government transaction references the CR number. Without a valid CR, a business legally does not exist.
For a straightforward mainland LLC with complete documents: 5–10 working days from name reservation to CR issuance. Regulated activities (contracting classifications, health, education, financial services) add 2–4 weeks of sector regulator pre-approval.
Shareholder identification (passports for individuals, notarised corporate documents for entities), articles of association, trade name approval, lease attestation (or virtual office contract) and — for regulated activities — the sector regulator's pre-approval. All foreign documents require MOFA attestation.
Annually. The renewal window opens 60 days before expiry. Late renewal triggers escalating fines and — after 90 days — automatic suspension of the CR, which freezes banking, hiring and tender participation.
Yes. Common amendments include adding or removing activities, changing shareholders, updating capital, changing the trade name, changing the manager, and updating the registered address. Every amendment goes through MOCI and, where relevant, the sector regulator.
A suspended CR blocks all banking transactions, government filings, employee sponsorships and tender participation. Reactivation requires clearing outstanding fines, submitting renewed documents, and — in some cases — a written justification. We handle reactivation as a standalone engagement.
